AFAS Online is the cloud platform of AFAS through which our software is delivered. This is also known as SaaS (Software as a Service). The platform ensures that the software is always fast and stable, updated automatically and securely backed up. This means you always work with modern technology, without concerns.
What makes AFAS Online distinctive is that it is fully hosted within Europe. In doing so, we contribute to digital sovereignty: the assurance that your data falls under European legislation and remains within European borders. At a time when many organisations carefully consider where their data is stored, we believe it is important that you retain full control.
With AFAS Online, you no longer need to worry about installation, updates, backups or server security. We take care of that for you. This leaves you more time for what truly matters.
AFAS Online automatically provides the latest software versions, including collective labour agreement updates and improvements. You always work in the most current and stable environment. There is no need to invest in servers or maintenance. Everything runs in our professional, modern cloud environment, managed by AFAS.
All data is backed up daily and secured according to the strictest standards. The production environment runs in Dutch data centres; backups are stored exclusively in Germany for regional disaster recovery. AFAS Online is ISO 27001 and ISAE 3402 type II certified, ensuring your data is always in safe hands.
Because the software runs centrally in our cloud, you can benefit from additional features such as dashboards, bank integrations and Chamber of Commerce integrations. Digital signatures and two-factor authentication are included as standard.

AFAS Online is fully hosted in the Netherlands at Leaseweb data centres operating under Dutch and European legislation. Your data remains within Europe: secure, independent and always under your control.
You use AFAS software via the cloud. We take care of system management, optimal security and daily backups. You remain the owner of your data at all times. The security of your information is our highest priority. Security applies to the physical data centre, the data connection and data management.
When working with AFAS Online, collective labour agreement updates, new versions, patches and legislative changes are installed automatically. This often takes place at night or during the weekend at a pre-announced time. This ensures you are always up to date - not only with your software, but also with legislation and regulations.
AFAS works daily to safeguard the security of the platform. The cloud platform AFAS Online is ISO 27001:2022 certified and holds an ISAE 3402 type II assurance report. The platform is also regularly tested through Attack & Penetration tests. The data centre, connections and data management are under strict supervision. This ensures your business data is secure in the cloud.
The data centre is located in the Netherlands and falls under European legislation.
Working with AFAS Online means mandatory use of two-factor authentication. When logging in, you must provide an additional piece of information alongside your username and password that is only available to you as a user.
You confirm your login via the AFAS Pocket app. This makes misuse of your credentials significantly more difficult. If your organisation uses Single Sign-On, two-factor authentication is not mandatory, as we assume this is enabled within your own environment.
With the AFAS Pocket app, you have AFAS software in your pocket. The app gives you access anytime and anywhere to your CRM, leave and absence records, open tasks and the files of your customers, prospects and suppliers.
